Parks, Traffic, and Blueprint Denver: Growth in West Colfax
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As the many cranes over the West Colfax neighborhood can tell us, big things are on their way to West Colfax. And with this growth comes more people. At this month's General Meeting we'll be looking how that growth is impacting our parks and traffic. Read more below in 'Next WeCAN General Meeting.'
Denver as a whole is growing, and Mayor Hancock recently put out a request to Registered Neighborhood Organizations (RNOs), such as WeCAN, asking for feedback on the new Blueprint Denver Draft Plan. The WeCAN Board of Directors will be discussing this at our September 19 meeting; please reach out to us if you would like to be a part of the discussion.

Denver Dog Park Master Plan:
2018 Technical Update

Denver Parks & Recreation is in the process of implementing a “technical update” to its current Dog Park Master Plan, which was completed in 2010.
Currently, there are more than 50,000 dogs registered in the City and County of Denver and 12 designated off-leash dog parks. Much like Denver’s human population growth, it’s expected that the number of dogs will continue to increase. To help alleviate the various issues that arise from an increasing dog population in a growing city, many municipalities are looking towards dog parks.Visit the project page to find more information and resources.
Take the survey to identify the public’s needs and priorities for current and future dog parks in Denver. Whether you’re a dog owner or not, Take the dog park survey now! Survey closes September 30th.
