Automated optimization of online advertising campaigns using stock market algorithms

Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments (BDMI) is investing a six-figure sum in Bidmanagement GmbH, a Berlin-based start-up founded in 2010. Under the Adspert brand, this company offers mathematical and statistical software that automatically manages and optimizes online campaigns by adjusting bids for search terms (keywords) and placements (display ads). Using a mathematical model that is also used in stock market trading, the software increases conversion rates and makes search and display advertising campaigns more profitable. The Adspert algorithm analyzes real-time data and measures the effectiveness of ads, keywords and placements. It then uses these results as a basis to optimize campaigns on an ongoing basis.
The newly developed system’s statistical computation model boosts performance both with large and smaller amounts of data. It is designed for advertisers of all sizes. No software installation is required: Adspert is web-based, runs automatically and is self-learning, allowing advertisers to focus on strategy and creation. Adspert can currently be used for Google Adwords (Search & Display), and an expansion of the offer to other advertising platforms such as Facebook and Bing is being planned. Adspert’s technology is also available as a fully automated module that can be integrated into existing e-commerce platforms, enabling providers of online shop solutions to offer their customers added value without a great expense.
