Fridays at the Farm
Thanks for taking the time to keep up with Goat Milk Stuff
! The newsletter special for this month is 2 pieces of dark chocolate-covered goat milk caramel with a $30 minimum order (please follow the directions at the end of the newsletter).
Here's what is new this November…
Limited Edition Soaps
The limited edition soap scents for this month are Kool Koala, Vanilla
, and Frankincense & Myrrh
. These are all great scents for the cooler weather.
We also have limited quantities of Candy Corn
, and Spearmint Lime
available while supplies last.
Goat Milk Cheese
Goat Milk Candy
We are happy to announce our goat milk cheese (chevre)
is now available on our website as well as on the farm! We really want to share it with you, so we are discounting it on the website (buy 1, get 1 free) for the first half of November. Your cheese will ship with USPS surrounded by insulation and plenty of ice packs, but needs to be refrigerated when it arrives. It is ok if the ice packs arrive melted, just put the cheese directly into the refrigerator.
We also have new types of goat milk candy available. These include dark chocolate-covered caramels
, dark chocolate-covered goat milk marshmallows
, goat milk truffles
, and pecan mikeys
(pecans, caramel, and dark chocolate). Our family has had to "suffer" and taste test all of these for you and we can assure you they are all delicious!
Goat Milk Fudge
We have finally figured out our goat milk fudge and it is awesome. It is currently available in 6 flavors: chocolate fudge
, peanut butter fudge
, chocolate-peanut butter fudge
, chocolate mint fudge
, chocolate caramel pecan fudge
, and maple fudge
. We're actually still working on the consistency of the maple fudge, but decided to make it available now. We're also working on updating the fudge photos on the website, but didn't want to delay the fudge availability while we wait on photos.
In order to make sure that none of the food items you order (candy, fudge, cheese) taste like soap, we have re-arranged some of our packaging procedures. We are now keeping our fudge, candy and cheese in the new kitchen building and not in our soaproom. Once they have been packaged, they are shrink-wrapped in this same building with a layer of plastic engineered to act as a barrier between scents.
When you place your order, we pull and package your food items in this new building and then include any soap items you've ordered after your food has been sealed up. If you are ordering fudge/candy/cheese at the same time you are ordering soap, and are still concerned about your food tasting like soap, we recommend that you wash your hands between handling the soap and any food items that you order.
As the days get shorter, our milk supply diminshes somewhat. Because of that, Goat Milk is now available for pick up at the farm only. We will not be shipping it for the remainder of 2015. If you are local and wish to pick up pasteurized goat milk
, pasteurized chocolate milk
, or raw goat milk (for pets only)
, we ask that you purchase it online first and choose "pickup at farm" as your shipping option. This way we can make sure that we have what you want in the retail room. If you stop in at the store without ordering first, we can't guarantee to have what you are looking for already bottled. We ask that you order at least 24 hours before you plan to pick up your milk.
Autumn is a great time to come out and visit the farm. We are excited to invite you to join us for weekly free events at our farm in Scottsburg throughout this season. We're calling them Fridays at the Farm
and each week will focus on a different part of our Goat Milk Stuff lineup of products. The events will run from 3 - 7 PM, each Friday in November and into December. Learn more at the Fridays at the Farm page
and add these events to your calendar now! We look forward to seeing you!
We love getting to meet people and share our goats and our farm, so if you're going to be in the neighborhood and can't join us for a Friday on the Farm, we hope you can come for a tour. We've integrated "taste testing" our milk, cheese, and other dairy food products into the tour and it's a big hit! You can find the tour information
on our website or sign up for a tour yourself
Activated Bamboo Charcoal Soap
We had enough positive feedback that we've decided to make the Activated Bamboo Charcoal
a permanent soap. When we make a new soap permanent, we have to move another one to limited edition status. The Hunter
soap will now be a limited edition soap.
Our soap end pieces (ugly soap) are available in select scents while supplies last. You can only find these discounted soap end pieces
at this hidden link. They do not show up on the website. If you click on the link and it says "product not found" that means they have sold out.
Custom Liquid Soap
Our liquid soaps
are regularly available in twelve scents. In addition to these, we will have custom scented liquid soaps
available every day for the rest of the holiday season.
While cleaning out the soap room, we uncovered several unused containers. So of course we had to fill them and make them available. The following will only be available while supplies last:
Liquid soap trials
contain 1 oz of liquid soap.
Large soy candle tins
hold at least 10 ounces of soy wax and have 3 wicks.
Large Lotion Tubs
contain 10 oz of lotion.
Tall lotion tubs
contain 8 oz of lotion.
Goat Milk Stuff App
We now have an official Goat Milk Stuff App available for your cell phones. You can download it for free in the App Store and Google Play Store
! The app puts all of our important information in one place. You can also place your orders or schedule a tour from the app. It is a great way for us to alert you to new products or specials available at the farm in real time! We would love your feedback on other features that you would like to see included in the app.
The Goat Milk Stuff Blog
You can learn about the Jonas family, the things we say, the farm, the goats, and our products on our blog. Here are some of the latest blog posts:
We spent the majority of October on the farm making candy and managing the end of goat breeding season (hopefully all the does are now pregnant).
But the rest of October was spent making sure all the chores got done on time so the boys could run cross-country.
The little girls also run, but not as often as the boys. (They're in bright yellow below.)
It's a wonderful sport because they can all do it together. (Brett is the team photographer.)
We are blessed to be a part of an amazing homeschool cross country team.
The children have made some wonderful friendships, and...
both our Boys' and Girls' Varsity Teams won 2nd place at the 2015 National Christian Home School Cross Country meet in Missouri.
We're super proud of the perseverance that the children are developing.
