2016 Event Catalog to Release on May 6
Gen Con attendees will get their first chance to view the initial list of Gen Con 2016 events at noon (Eastern) on Friday, May 6 when the official Event Catalog is released to the public. A newsletter highlighting key links to the Event Finder and the downloadable Event Catalog will be sent to help you discover events. With the release of the Event Catalog, attendees can begin building their Wish Lists on gencon.com, preparing for the opening of Event Registration on Sunday, May 15 at noon (Eastern).
Discover International Games Program
Gen Con will send upcoming newsletters explaining the Wish List creation and Event Registration process, which may be particularly useful to those that have never participated in the opening of Event Registration. It is important to note that the initial events released will not be a full list of all events that will take place at Gen Con 2016. Events will be added to the system, and events in the system, as always, are subject to change.
Gen Con wants to provide you with even more opportunities to experience games from outside the USA and other English-language countries. Want to learn about games and communities from outside the United States? The new Discover International Games (DIG) program will feature some events where you can play titles; other events may have opportunities to talk about and explore different gaming concepts. International publishers and players will gather to talk about their experiences with worldwide gaming communities.
This is an event to learn about all kinds of tabletop games (whether board or card games, RPGs, LARPs, or something entirely different) from all around the world.
Gen Con needs your help to make this a global gaming tour, though.
Winning Name of the Official Beer of 2016
- Would you be willing to run a session of an international game during the event? Volunteer and we will set aside space for you!
- Do you have an international game, but aren’t comfortable running it? Gen Con would still love to have you attend and introduce other attendees to the game and hopefully make some new fans.
- Is there a game you love or think we should make sure to highlight? Let the Events team know even if you can’t attend the event so that we can include even more great games.
- Are you a publisher, designer, translator, or importer and would like your game to have an official presence by donating copies or having someone run a game? Perfect - the Events team can set you up with space to run an event.
