You may have noticed that last week's newsletter had the same slightly humorous and strangely inane introduction as the week before. Rest assured that our mailing chimp has been disciplined for his transgressions and won't try any of that monkey business again. So here's what we have in store this week: amazeballs patterned leggings by Mimi Leung, a hot new show at Lamington Drive, a brand new recruit to the good ship of SEA, and a sweet NAB promo by James Fosdike. Not to mention a few frankly awesome illustrations by Eirian Chapman for Frank Health Insurance and Kelly Thompson winning Gold in the Pride in Print Awards. Have a great week and don't forget to be awesome! Love always - jw.
For most people, internal bodily functions and the eternal excretion of matter are a bit gross. Not so for Mimi Leung - she makes wearing your insides on the outside look totes desirable and chic with her vibrant imagery and cheeky patterns. Mimi has just designed four patterned leggings for Front Row Society as part of an artist collaboration series. We're talking gruesomely chic works of art for your legs. They pop so hard with bright pigmentation that they leave little smiley faces on your retinas. Go and get some!
Mimi Leung for Front Row Society

Mimi Leung has just launched her first collection of leggings for Front Row Society as part of an artist collaboration series. Colour-lovers everywhere can rejoice because the zany patterns pop so hard with bright pigmentation that they leave little smiley faces on your retinas. Mimi was inspired by “internal bodily functions and the external excretion of matter.” In other words, literally wearing your insides on the outside. The collection includes bizarre yet brilliant designs entitled Bananaz, Cut The Crap, Way Out and Inside. Leg it here to see the full range of colour explosions available for $39.95!
Eirian Chapman worked with The Royals to create a fun suite of illustrated icons for Frank Health Insurance. You can see her work all over the company’s website virtually vivifying how to grapple with health insurance basics and mix and match their hospital and extras covers. Eirian’s illustrations certainly help demystify the usual health insurance jargon and membership blurbs - which Frankly is a good thing!
The versatile James Fosdike was commissioned by Clemenger BBDO to create an illustration for a NAB promotion where customers automatically went into the running to win 1 of 2 trips to the FIFA World Cup Brazil by making 5 or more Visa payWave transactions. The promotion has now ended and the lucky winners are jetting off to Rio de Janeiro courtesy of Visa. Could the infamous Mexican wave be replaced by the Brazilian payWave? The FIFA World Cup 2014 started yesterday with Brazil playing the tournament opener against Croatia.
Please put your hands together and give a warm welcome to our newest recruit, Danny Cohen, who is joining our talented ship of photographers at SEA. Danny is a delightful advertising and conceptual photographer who has racked up some amazing personal projects over the last few years. He’s got a sizable number of awards and exhibitions to his name and his client list includes VICE Magazine, The Daily Telegraph, Bird’s Eye, Leggo’s, Bearded Lady Bourbon, Fox Sports, TAC, Galvumet and Dexilant. We’re delighted to add him to the agency – now go check out his folio!
We are pleased, proud and positively pumped to present Artists, Writers, Thinkers, Dreamers, a book launch and solo exhibition by James Gulliver Hancock, running from June 13 – July 5 at Lamington Drive. As with our usual Opening Night festivities, you are cordially invited to carouse with us between 6pm – 9pm on June 12th and check out James’ brilliant book, wall hangings and original process drawings. Artists, Writers, Thinkers, Dreamers draws upon the little-known eccentricities of everyone from Leonardo da Vinci to Coco Chanel in an eclectic annotated style and represents a veritable cultural who’s-who of famous figures. For something a little special, dare we say sophisticated, Four Pillars Gin will be serving a delectable twist on the G&T during the evening, playfully dubbed ‘The Keating’.
