It's cold, right? Have you noticed how quickly that chill seemed to creep in? Of course, we say this every winter, and hold out hope until approximately August that the warm days aren't truly behind us yet. But at least there are a lot more cheese-packing, life-affirming food in winter. And it's good TV weather. We recommend you get started straightaway on these latest must-see shows as presented by GQ Magazine and Guy Shield. Also consider using Luci Everett's map of national food icons to find carb-loading nirvana when you're not wearing flimsy white dresses on the beach that are reminiscent of Picnic at Hanging Rock. Oh, and check out frankie Magazine's profile on Emi Ueoka! Love always - jw.
Tune in for the all-new season of Breaking Badder, starring Tim Taylor from Home Improvement and Full House's Danny Tanner! The boys will get into all sorts of mix-ups and grisly homicides as goofy drug kingpins! Canned laugh track optional! TV Takeover comes at you courtesy of Guy Shield and GQ Magazine.
Guy Shield for GQ Magazine’s ‘TV Takeover’
May 05, 2014 02:06 pm
Is it May already? Are you up to date with all the latest TV shows? If not, never fear, because Guy Shield worked on a six page story for the May issue of GQ Magazine about all the TV shows that should be created, but don’t actually exist yet. Forerunners include Keeping Up With Kanye, HBO’s BOYS and Breaking Badder. We applaud this ‘TV Takeover’. We’d also like some snacks from GQ, preferably thematised to the selected programs. Cheezus Thins, anyone?
Luci Everett was commissioned by Copenhagen’s Gastro Magazine to creatively map out Australia’s cultural and food icons. The Art Director of the European publication is currently living between Melbourne and Sydney to cover the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival and fine dining in Sydney. We hope he’s already had the elegance of a meat pie with sauce smeared across his forearm and the dandruff-like effect of a lamington sprinkling his trousers. It’s the gastronomic tradition, orright?
Clare Plueckhahn recently collaborated with stylist Rebecca Vitartas to give us a gorgeous new series of photographs called ‘Pastel Sea’. In Clare’s own words, it’s ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’ with a dash of the spectacular Aussie coast thrown in for good measure. Designers on show include Ryder, Gorman, Winkoptom and Jewels by Karlaway. We love the way Clare’s camera examines the natural surroundings in lush and intimate detail – certain shots seem to suggest that the model is surrounded by invisible friends. Ancient spirits of the water, perhaps, or the ghosts of three girls who walk into the recesses of a rockface and never return.
And that's your lot for this week. Parting is such sweet sorrow that I shall say goodbye til it be morrow,
