Hey there!

As we're fans of the oblique, ambiguous gesture at times, you received a repeat of last week's newsletter yesterday and are getting a brand new one today. Let's say no more about it; minimalism is highly underrated. In the proper version (the dirty realism one) you'll find links to all sorts of lovely articles. Newsweek wrote up a profile of our boy Diego Patiño, Gemma O'Brien let photographers into her gorgeous home studio, and Dan Boud blogged about his experience photographing backstage at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. As well as that, Chris Nielsen made wholegrains look positively fetching, Clare Plueckhahn lent a photo to Sounds of the Reef, and we reminded art-lovers to check out 100 FACES before it closes. After all, what could be better than gallery-ing in this dismal, rainy weather? See you soon! Love always - jw. P.S. our photography exhibition is still on, too!

Strike a pose, there's nothing to it... SEA photographer Dan Boud did some ah-mazing work at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2014. We're constantly astonished by the scope and range of this guy's talent, not to mention that of his camera. Check out more backstage pics on his blog. Or just lose yourself by spending an hour or two there - Dan's the man.

Daniel Boud for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2014

Apr 22, 2014 03:53 pm

The very versatile Dan Boud shot these ultra glam photos at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. He created a backstage studio set-up for Michael Lo Sordo, shot the opening party for Romance Was Born‘s ‘Reflected Glory’ exhibition, and snapped models backstage for Alice McCall. Suffice to say, he was all over the place, doing SEA proud. If you want a dip into high fashion, check out Dan’s blog. Then c’mon and vogue, darling, the camera loves you!

Diego Patiño for Newsweek

Apr 22, 2014 12:25 pm

Diego Patiño recently illustrated Martin Luther King for the front cover of Newsweek. The mag featured a look inside the bitter battle over King’s legacy – apparently his adult children squabble over lucrative licensing deals for their father’s words and image. Yeesh. At least Diego’s portrait captures the essence of quiet dignity. Check out this article on Diego’s artistic background and typical design process.

And that's your lot for this week. Parting is such sweet sorrow that I shall say goodbye til it be morrow,
