KW Doggett commissioned Craig & Karl to create a suite of illustrations based on the theme “wild” to launch WILD Paper by Neenah. Their illustrations appeared on a printed paper promo pack for the luxurious new product range - a creamy rich white paper with 35% cotton content. Each of Craig & Karl‘s illustrations were printed using a different technique to show off the lovely tactile quality of the paper, which is perfectly suited to embossing, letterpress and hot foil stamping. There’s something distinctly naughty about all of these illustrations - hey, even paper has two sides to it…
Cats? Cats on the internet? You don’t say! Cat MacInnes and her partner-in-cute Chris have made our online dreams come true by launching the FuzzyCat website. The greeting cards haven allows the user to select a card, add personalised text and post it straight to the recipient’s real-life letterbox. It’s full of of adorable cards for every occasion, featuring not just cats, but many other fuzzy animals too. Back in her high school days, Cat would draw caricatures of her teachers as the animals they resembled; the wheel has come full circle - you can even find a panda on this website! But let’s be real: meow-meow, meeeow, meow-meooooow. That’s FuzzyCat speak for “cats iz where da heart iz.”
Wowsers, that came around quick – it’sfrankie’s 60th issue/10th birthday. Greedy Hen gave them the gift that keeps on giving with this special edition cover design. The pretty illustration matches an article inside about creative bartering (featuring flowers and pickles) and reminds us that we live in the sunburnt country with its pretty (but pesky for allergies) wattle. Copies went on sale yesterday – get one for commemorative value and also to find out where lamingtons really come from!
And that's your lot for this week. Parting is such sweet sorrow that I shall say goodbye til it be morrow,
