It's that time again. Not only did we welcome photographer Hayley Sparks to SEA's onshore roster last week, we have four new artists lined up to make your immediate acquaintance. We're very proud to welcome Dave Foster and Andrew Fairclough into The Perch, Foster Type into The Twitchery, and Ars Thanea into Rock of Eye. Who says they don't make mega-talent like they used to? Certainly not us. Meanwhile, our talented stable of existing artists have been busily filling with the world with beautiful artwork. Christopher Nielsen has illustrated a deck of cards for Australia's most infamous beer brewer and rogue, Mimi Leung created animated critters which we're dubbing chdrigons or drichgons, and Nigel Buchanan combined bed and table service for The New York Times. We love this time of year. And did somebody say cronuts? Love always - jw.
We're incredibly stoked to welcome four new artists into our talented stable of creative stallions, stallionettes and shapeshifters. They're rearing to go and we're ready to show you what they've got. Hint: it's even better than what your mumma gave you.
Jacky Winter Welcomes Four New Artists
Sep 23, 2013 02:20 pm
As if it wasn’t enough excitement having the lovely Hayley Sparks join SEA last week, we would like to introduce you to Andrew Fairclough, Ars Thanea, Dave Foster and Foster Type. Words fail to express how happy we are to have these supremely talented individuals join our incredible stable of artists. Seriously, words don’t cut the mustard in this scenario. What’s up with that, words?!
We know it’s no longer hip to say things are hip, but if these artists were a food group, they would be a cronut. So damn inventive, unique and outrageous. We’d like to prance around them like a proud parent at graduation day, but we’ll let their folios do the talking. The best decision you will make all day will be to check ‘em out.
Nigel Buchanan created this beauty of an illustration for The New York Times Dining & Wine section. Designed to complement an article by a former food critic about the pleasures of returning to the same restaurant over and over again, Nigel cleverly made the linen-swaddled table look as comfortable as a king-size bed.
Mimi Leung is the latest artist to design artwork and characters for the new animated video series by Le Creuset and Lucky Peach. Yes, the French kitchenware company has collaborated with the quarterly food publication to produce a zany line of video game inspired clips. They’ll be released each day for… who knows how long? One thing’s for sure, they’ll only get crazier. We love Mimi‘s contribution of the chicken-dragon guys below. Can we call them chdrigons? Drichgons? We reckon that they could totally take on the monkey dudettes and the little jellybean guys – and WIN.
Jacky Winter’s photography wing, SEA, is delighted to announce the newest addition to its onshore roster, photographer Hayley Sparks. Hayley has just arrived on the shores of Sydney fresh from New York, and given her talent for capturing natural light, we can’t wait to see what she does under the Australian sun.
Hayley’s photographic specialities include fashion, kids, portraiture… and snapping Don Draper in all his debonair glory. Her work is timeless, classic, crazily beautiful and we highly recommend you check out her portfolio here. Welcome to the flock, Hayley!
