Wednesday morning fog on the fields.....the beauty of our environment is astounding.  The morning walk among the crops can often be a mystical experience.

Box Contents and Tips

  • Napa Cabbage: 1 head Small; 1 head Standards; 2 heads Doubles

News From the Farm

Ok, so here is a question for those who receive our produce..... did you want more lettuce this week?  There are moments when we would love to peak inside your refrigerators to see what you are using and what you are not.  We have been loving the lettuce this year. We have have some hot days but mostly the temps have been cool especially at night, thereby producing some sweet, mild and crisp lettuce.  So we opted to put it in this weeks box.  Partly because the summer crops are slow in maturing and are not quite ready.  It is always a challenge to please all diets and we strive to find a balance.  We hope that you are enjoying some good salads and lettuce wraps.

We do realize that we have been putting lettuce in the box for while and understand that more can be less when it comes to being overloaded with unwanted produce. So one way we hope to get a better idea of what you want and don't want, is through the use of online polling. When we need some feedback we plan to send you an email with a link to a very short poll as to whether an item is wanted or not.....keep your eyes peeled.

Other news is that we are in the middle of garlic harvest and we have had some extra help to get the crop harvested and hung in the barn to cure.  The 2.25 inches of rain on Tuesday night, and now it's currently raining hard, will make the harvest more interesting as try to find a way to get the thousands of pounds of garlic out of a soupy muddy field.   But like most challenges where there is a will there is a way and we certainly have plenty of will.....

Here's to some dry weather!

Eat well everyone and happy cooking,
