We are excited for the coming vegetable season with you. The strawberries are loaded with flowers and little berries!
But what a spring it has been! After a long, harsh winter the spring plagued us with cold, wet weather. April was the second wettest April on record in our region, preventing field work from its usual start. We got lucky with one day of dry conditions to seed our first plantings of peas, beets and spinach.
The month of May started with 40-degree highs and has ended with 85-degree windy dry days. The warm temperatures is clouding our memory of the cold, slow start to spring. We finally feel caught up on transplanting and seeding, and we're rejoicing in today's rain!
