Each month, the Eastern Collier Chamber of Commerce will bring you relevant chamber and community news, with the purpose of keeping you 'in the know'. Beginning with the September issue, the newsletter will be provided in both e-mail and hard-copy format. Save the Date! September Chamber Breakfast Meeting
The next Chamber Breakfast Meeting will be held September 2, 2009, 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, at the Events Pavilion, Seminole Casino, 506 1st Street, Immokalee. Phil Tindall, of the Collier MPO (Metropolitan Planning Organization), will be the guest speaker, presenting on the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) process and expectations, how the travel demand model works, the current project schedule, communication network and project contact information.

Eastern Collier Chamber Defines its Vision
Eastern Collier Chamber of Commerce President, Dr. Joseph Heinzman, Jr., with support by the Chamber's Board of Directors, has begun the task of defining the organization's overall vision and goals. In essence, the Chamber's vision is to facilitate the creation of an environment that enables current members to prosper and grow, entice new members to join, prosper, and grow, and to market both local, national and international membership. Get to know Your Chamber Board of Directors
Mr. Halman is presently assigned as County Extension Director and agricultural agent with the Collier County University of Florida/ IFAS Extension Office. Robert’s focus is his expertise in small farm management, marketing, farmer’s markets and agricultural emergency management.

Immokalee's 1st Annual Celebration of Cultures
Immokalee’s first annual Celebration of Cultures will be held on September 18, 19 and 20, 2009, at the Immokalee Airport. It will offer activities and educational opportunities for children, as well as local arts, crafts, food and entertainment for all. The celebration begins with a parade that will travel down a decorated Main Street from 9th Street to the Airport. Several sponsorship levels are available; a sampling of sponsors already onboard include the Immokalee CRA, Ave Maria University, Collier County Parks & Recreation, Seminole Casino, RWA Consulting, Coca-Cola, and many others.

Mark Your Calendar! Annual Chamber Golf Tournament
Planning is underway for the annual Chamber Golf Tournament, which is currently scheduled to take place either November 13th or 14th, and will be held at the Golf Club at Del Webb, 6005 Anthern Parkway, Ave Maria.

You're Invited! 2009 Regional Tourism Summit
The 2009 Regional Tourism Summit "Growing Tourism in South Central Florida" is being held September 16, 2009, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at the Lake Placid Camp and Conference Center.
Presented by Florida's Freshwater Frontier, Inc., this is a professional development tourism summit for the leaders, owners, managers, directors, and staff of accommodations, retail operations, restaurants, attractions & events, Chambers of Commerce, 'Main Street' programs, local governments, Tourist Development Councils, Economic Development Councils, and others interested in the tourism industry. Free Public Outreach Seminars
The Collier County Clerk of Courts is offering several free seminars, in the months of October, November and December, hosted by the Community Outreach office. Established two years ago by Dwight E. Brock, Clerk of the Circuit court, Community Outreach is responsible for increasing the public awareness and understanding of the Clerk’s role, programs, services and the information resources available to them when conducting business with the Clerk’s Office.
