Community Leaders Broke Ground for Fife Pierce County Library

Foundation Raises $370,000 in 2010-2011
Thanks to the generosity of library donors, the Pierce County Library Foundation received more than $370,000 in the fiscal year 2010-11 ending June 30. The Foundation will award these gifts to the Library for pressing needs and innovative programs. Total giving represented 600 donor contributions to the annual fund, new gifts to the University Place Library Campaign and a bequest from the estate of Hazel Nance. Read more »

Pepsi Party at University Place Library
With a groundswell of support, hundreds of library supporters voted online to win $25,000 for the University Place Library Campaign in the Pepsi Refresh Challenge. Visit University Place Library, Saturday, Aug. 6, to celebrate the wonderful additions to the children and 'tween areas made possible with the Pepsi grant. Festivities begin at 2 p.m. in the meeting room with treats for the kids, prize drawings and refreshments from Pepsi. Read more »

Teenager’s Design Will Go on More Than 10,000 Pierce County Library Cards
Forming words such as entertaining, active, and creative and many book titles into an artistically designed word cloud earned Dillon Hadaway, age 14, the winning entry into Pierce County Library System’s teen library card design contest. The winning design, along with the artist’s name, will appear on a new library card for use by people of all ages, starting October 1, when the Library System launches its fifth annual card drive.
