South Hill Library transformed

South Hill Library will close Nov. 1-30 for repairs and renovation. In addition to library improvements, a Foundation fundraising project will provide new furnishings, displays and technology to bring the library up to date for the busy South Hill community. Summer readers rock

Congratulations to winners of prizes, including iPads and a digital camera, during the 2014 Summer Reading program. People ages 0 to adult participated in the program. Thousands of children read more than 107,405 hours of books, magazines and other materials. Read more

Library honors donors

The Library Foundation celebrated with donors at A Literary Evening, an annual event held to thank donors for their contributions of $500 or more. This year’s event featured author Jim Lynch who wrote "The Highest Tide" and "Truth Like the Sun." Guests also heard a report of the accomplishments by Library Director Neel Parikh. Former Foundation Board member leaves a legacy

Phyllis Erickson—former Library Foundation board member, Washington state representative and community activist—passed away last year at age 91.
