COUNTER CULTURE by Katie O'Kelly, directed by Donal O'Kelly
- 18th July St. John's Theatre Listowel, 31st July and 1st August Savoy Theatre Limerick, 6th and 7th August Birr Theatre.
Welcome to the world of fashion retail, a labyrinth of sequins, hangers, sales targets and bunions where ‘the customer is always right’. Four shop employees. One day on the shop floor. A day so jam-packed it is bursting at the seams and the workers feel as disposable as the clothes they sell. This is a whirlwind solo show by Stage UK Best Solo Performer nominee in the Edinburgh Fringe 2012.
'A kaleidoscopic story ... pitch-perfect O’Kelly.' Irish Theatre Magazine
SMALL PLASTIC WARS - by Pat McGrath, directed by Alan King -
Bewley's Cafe Theatre until July 19th, Savoy Theatre Limerick Aug 28th and 29th.
Joe is in total control of his world. It’s a pity that it exists only in 1/35 scale and is made of plastic. Unemployment has finally given him the time to enjoy his hobby of sticking bits of plastic together, but unfortunately his wife, his kids, the bank, his nemesis Hermann (
whose real name is Brian), the checkout girl in Tesco and Angela Merkel have other ideas.
'McGrath’s wonderful performance does justice to his hilarious, well-paced script.'
