But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. I Peter 2:9

There is an app for that!

I recently had to purchase a new phone.  I was used to my old phone, I was familiar with it, it was fairly easy to use, and it worked – most of the time.   Most new things you buy come with some kind of instruction manual.  My new phone was no different, except the instruction manual is “built-in”.  When I began to use my phone, all these little instructions would “pop up”.   The more that I kept reading, the more new things I discovered it could do.   Through this process, I realized there was much about my old phone I didn’t know it could do. There was so much potential that I never knew existed.  There are apps for just about anything these days.  My phone can function as a phone, but it is also a useful tool that can help with many things.    Thinking about this, I wonder in our Christian walk are we taking full advantage of all that God has for us.  In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (Amp) it says, “All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Are you spending time reading your instruction manual, in order to be outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work?  As believers, are we using the “apps” that God provides for us?   Are we listening to the Holy Spirit to guide us in making wise decisions, are we letting Christ’s love show through us in difficult situations, are we giving God praise and thanksgiving for the blessings in our lives?   God provides all the resources, it is up to us find out how to use them efficiently.  The more we can operate according to how He designed us, the more effective we will be to minister to people and share the gospel with those around us.
