After the first Full Moon Dinner sold-out in no time flat our friends, Ingo and Melanie at The Grain Store have been getting up their courage to put another one on (see the invite above). Ingo, originally from Switzerland, is a classically trained chef who has cooked his way around the world in the demanding kitchens of various 5 star hotels and classy eateries. A little more than a year ago Ingo wanted to escape the restrictions of corporate fine dining so he opened The Grain Store. The rustic, organic, seasonal food that Ingo couldn't do at Crown or the Hilton has been the basis of The Grain Store's popularity. It's also why Fair Food located our CBD Food Host there.
The dinner kicks off in The Grain Store's rooftop garden so bring your warm clothes. Produce for the night will be sourced from Fair Food and there'll be a talk about gardening by the moon from eloquent bio-dynamic beef farmer, James Sprunt. Be quick to book - the last one sold out in two days!
Produce getting all unpredictably wintery
Sue, who some of you may have spoken to via our customer service, asked me to let everybody know that it's really winter. This may be stating the bleeding obvious, especially if you went to the Collingwood Children's Farm solstice bonfire, did your own Dark Mofo nude swim or just poked your head outside this morning, but it's not what Sue's getting at. Sue processes all the credits for unavailable items and at this time of year, with the last of the summer harvest slowly slipping away and the first of the winter frosts, she would like everybody to know that there are a few produce items that may be unpredictably out-of-stock. So because we won't know until the morning it's due to be delivered that the last of the capsicums weren't good enough to harvest or the fancy lettuce has been frost bitten overnight we'd just like to give you a heads up and apologise if what you've ordered isn't available.
Have a great week
