Steal Strategies
Hey y’all,

Here are 10 things I thought were worth sharing this week:
  1. I’ve been working on this weird deck of cards (inspired by Oblique Strategies) to help me out when I get creatively stuck, so I thought I'd share a virtual version for y’all. More cards will be posted soon...
  2. C.S. Lewis on how to be original.
  3. How Einstein used thought experiments to explore his ideas (See also: Agent Dana Scully on genius.)
  4. Director Michael Haneke on why you should marry well.
  5. What you can learn about success from Van Halen and how singer David Lee Roth turned his hyperactivity into a career. (The latter reminded me of Sir Ken Robinson’s amazing talk, “Do Schools Kill Creativity?”)
  6. Beautiful photos of Andy Goldsworthy throwing sticks.
  7. A book about how the Golden Gate bridge ended up orange.
  8. Current listening: the band Fuzz, Sly and the Family Stone and Bob Dylan bootlegs.
  9. Heather Champ is posting a page from her Steal Like An Artist Journal every day of November. See them all here. (Send me your cool journal pages and I’ll add them to the Pinterest board!)
  10. November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), but I have no interest in writing novels, so I started National Novel Reading Month (NaNoReadMo). I'm sharing one of my favorite novels every day —  join me!

Want to be more creative? Have trouble keeping a journal? I made a notebook just for you.
