Tri-Adventure July Newsletter

Dear <<First Name>>

It's Hot, Hot, Hot! I hope you are making the most of it.  Here at Tri-Adventure, we have been busy sorting out venues and trails, and we are now pleased to share with you dates for the next few events.  We know how important it is for you to have as much notice of event dates as possible and, once we've got the company up and running with some experience under our belt, I'll be confirming dates at least six months in advance.

In the meantime, I can confirm that our next Adventure Race will be in the popular location of Peaslake, with this Experience event starting from the Village Hall.  We are well in the swing of Adventure Racing now, having staged 2 great events, one in Effingham, Surrey and the other in the Chilterns, Princes Risborough.  Results, Photos and Race Reports can be viewed on our website here.

Also, the Hurtleberry is back!  This off-road Duathlon, known to be a bit of a challenge, will direct participants along stunning trails and single tracks in the beautiful Hurtwood.  Known for its hills and mountain biking trails, this event is certain to thrill and inspire.  We're also putting on a 10km Trail Run, which you can enter with your four legged friends.

Take advantage of the reduced entry charges for these events by signing up early.

Next weekend sees Emily and James set off on their ride from London to Cape Town, with Tri-Adventure organising the Charity Cycle with them on Leg One to Brighton.

What we have coming up:

12th July: London to Brighton Cycle Challenge
26th July: Peaslake Adventure Races
23rd August: Tilford Adventure Races
13th September: The Hurtleberry

Based on feedback from Tri-Adventurers, I'm introducing a 2 hour Trail Event at Peaslake, and we'll see how it goes.  The objective is to take the pressure off the less experienced participants, especially those new to AR, by giving everyone the option of collecting as many of the 15 CPs as they choose.

I have also reserved the following dates for Tri-Adventure Events.  Locations still need to be finalised, but you can at least put these dates in your diaries:

11th October
22nd November
13 December
10 January
21 February

Keep an eye on the website, where I'll post the information about these events as soon as we finalise the venues.

I've decided to trial an "Early Bird" discounted fee structure for now.  This is to help you book early and save yourselves some money in the process.

Since taking over Tri-Adventure, I've been really encouraged to see so many first timers getting involved. I've had a few people ask me to give them some training in Navigation techniques, and that is why we have our Academy.  So, I've decided to run some Introduction to Navigation courses on certain Saturdays before a Sunday event, so that people can enjoy learning the techniques, and then putting them straight into practice the following day.

The formula seems to work, as exemplified by Laura and Adam last week end. They came along for a one day session with me last Saturday, stayed over in the Chilterns, and then took part in the 1 hour Trail Event at Princes Risborough on the Sunday.  Not only did they have a great time, but they scored the highest number of points in each of their categories!

Please let me know if any of you would like to attend one of these Introduction to Navigation days. They are very practical, hands on sessions, and details can be found on the website here.

Future Newsletters will feature a Q & A section, so please email me your questions, and I'll do my best to answer them.

Well, that's it for now.

Yours in Tri-Adventuring

Adam
