Your Heritage Centre is a very special place for many reasons. Among those reasons are the volunteers who make special events happen. Rod Bergeron and Brenda Carter are two of many.
THIS WEEKEND - ART SHOW BY ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE & STUDENTS
For the last 6 Wednesdays artist Rod Bergeron has been on site at the Sifton-Cook Heritage Centre creating, teaching and preparing for a public showing. On Thursday evening he welcomed over 50 guests for a special evening showing of his work
It has been fun to watch Rod and his students looking at our buildings, gardens, the railway for what they are and then interpreting that vision on paper.
You can still see their work on display this Saturday & Sunday, August 17 & 18.
We think you will be inspired to see your Heritage Centre in a new way.
Herbs, Plants and Critters
Last Saturday our gardener, Brenda Carter, gave a fascinating presentation on the make up of our gardens. In case you were not there to enjoy it, we have attached the PowerPoint Presentation which was the basis of her talk.
If you know Brenda you will know that she had a lot of insights to share as she presented these pictures and text.
to access the presentation, "Herbs, Plants and Critters".
A Quiet Retreat
A number of visitors recently have commented on how nice it was to spend some unhurried time away from the crowds. While sometimes we would like more crowds, we understand that a quiet heritage centre with friendly guides is often the perfect place to be.
So this weekend, once you have done your shopping at the market, or are coming from/going to/studiously avoiding the Rib Fest, why not drop in and spend a relaxing time with us. And bring your visitors and friends - you will all be most welcome.
