Dear Jolkona Supporter,

By now you would have heard about the devastating floods in Pakistan and the lack of aid flowing into the country to help the millions affected.

Jolkona has mobilized our giving platform to provide you with the opportunity to give directly to displaced families in need. In return, you'll receive tangible feedback on how your donation was used.

Pakistan's Worst Natural Disaster

More than 20 million people have been affected by the floods, greater than the number affected by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, 2005 Kashmir earthquake, and 2010 Haiti earthquake combined. The worst-hit regions cover an area as big as the state of Washington.

Haiti's Lesson: Accountability

According to the Chronicle of Philanthropy, over $1.6 billion was donated to Haiti's earthquake relief efforts, yet hundreds of millions remain unused. Of the 200 organizations that have received aid money, only six regularly report on their activities. This information is playing a major role in the tepid donation rate in Pakistan. It's why we insist on transparency and accountability in our response. Read more

You Can Help Flood Victims Directly

In Nowshera, Punjab, the floods have completely washed away a refugee camp for people fleeing the conflict in Afghanistan. Many of these displaced refugees have taken refuge in another already-crowded refugee camp at Attock.

Through Jolkona, you can directly help families from Nowshera who are arriving in Attock. Your $100 gift will support an entire family for a month. And you 'll receive information about the family and how they used your donation.

People in the refugee camps of Pakistan are giving up rooms in their own homes to accommodate the families fleeing the floods. We can do our part by giving today.
