I also thank the many other members who were previously members of IBE and have rejoined.  I look forward to seeing you in Athens in just a few weeks.  Consider getting involved with IBE.

The IBE 2020 Annual Conference is right around the corner!

About 125 abstracts were received for a wide range of oral and poster presentations for the Annual IBE meeting on March 19 - 21 in Athens, Georgia.  The rough schedule has now been posted, and the presentations are confirmed, though some of the events may get juggled a little.  The keynote speakers will be Dr. Karen Burg (University of Georgia) and Dr. Delphine Dean (Clemson University).  Registration is still open.  And don’t forget to register if you have a poster or oral presentation!

Deadline Extended for the Student Bioethics Essay Competition!

We have extended the Student Bioethics Essay Competition deadline to March 1.  Now is your final chance to put the finishing touches on that essay and impress the IBE judges!

Social Media - We'd love to hear from you!

We would love to hear about the successes and activities of IBE members.  You have a couple ways to communicate.  You can connect with us through Twitter (@InstBioEng) or you can complete a ‘form’ on the link http://ibe.org/resources/news-form.  Either way, the information will be sent to headquarters staff and others.  Who knows, your NEWS might be on the front page of IBE and go viral!

Participate in the USDA-AFRI-IBE Workshop on Convergence in Bioengineering

On the Thursday (March 19) before the IBE conference, there will be a workshop on convergence.  This event is the perfect venue to meet with the experts studying convergence, and get the hands-on experiences to understand and incorporate convergence into what you are doing.  Please see the website:  https://engineering.usu.edu/be/events/wcb/index

Member-Recruit-Member Campaign Continues!

Any IBE member can recruit just two new members to IBE and obtain a one year complimentary membership.  This is a great opportunity for those involved in Biological Engineering to engage with IBE programs. Moreover, we now have three membership periods to choose from…starting either January 1, May 1 or September 1.  There is no better time to share IBE with your colleagues.  To join visit www.ibe.org
