Clean out your closets and drop-off unwanted clothes, shoes, accessories, and small household items on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Savers in Tonawanda, NY from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm in the parking lot. Tell volunteers that you are there for B Team Buffalo and B Team will get a cash donation based on the weight of items donated! You also get a receipt for tax purposes. Win-win!

Show your BuffaLove! The B Team will be at the fourth annual BuffaLoveFest at the Buffalo Zoo on Friday, May 27th from 5:30 pm until 9:00 pm. This is a 21 and over event that will feature live music, beer & wine, food trucks, and artisans with a Buffalo-themed flair. Join us as the B Team celebrates our love for our great city!

Thank you so much to all of the volunteers who came out to support the Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon and the Unyts Bucket List Bash last month. With our efforts, we helped raise over $166,747 to benefit Junior Achievement and helped save over 800 lives during Donate Life Month. We appreciate your generous donation of time and look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!

One hour per week makes all the difference.

Compeer of Greater Buffalo serves children, adults, seniors, and veterans and their families. They serve those between the age of 3 and continuing throughout the lifespan. Using the healing power of friendship to change lives has been their main goal since they started in 1985. Consider spending an hour a week with a Compeer kid, adult, veteran or senior and you will make a friend for life. There are many different ways to become a part of the Compeer family!

Compeerâ€™s mission is to use the power of volunteer friends and mentors to improve the lives of children and adults who are striving for good mental health. It is hard to come up with a picture of the people who are in need of a Compeer friend. They come from different backgrounds. Each person Compeer serves faces different challenges.

Many of the adults in the program have become isolated and lonely. Some have few social supports because of their illness. Many of the children need role models and a special adult who they can trust. The gift of friendship is given without expecting anything in return. Simply stated, a friend believes in us.

The relationship formed between volunteers and their friends encourage a sense of belonging, trust, and self-esteem. The majority of referring professionals stated, in yearly Compeer satisfaction surveys, that the friendship has helped their clients. Compeer is the remarkable story of personal change brought about by friendship.
