Music Midtown

Music Midtown is back this weekend and, while it provides the area with a lot of entertainment, we understand that it can be a burden on neighbors not attending. As such, please see below for this year's logistics and additional information. Further, there is a Midtown Neighbors Support Ticket portal where you can direct any concerns that you have now or during the event. As always, if there is a pressing matter call 911.

There will be amplified sound during sound checks and performances. Sound checks begin Friday, September 17th from 5:00pm - 9:00pm, and again prior to performances on Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 9:00am.

The following streets are barricaded to limit vehicle traffic to Resident Access Only on September 18 - 19 (for a day-to-day map of road closures, please click here):

  • Charles Allen Drive between 8th and 10th
  • Taft Ave between 8th and 10th

Party in the Park

Olmsted Park is hosting a wonderful event on September 25 with yummy bites to eat and live music! Come enjoy the beautiful weather and an evening out on the lawn with your friends and family!

Morningside-Lenox Park Concert Series

As conditions surrounding COVID and the Delta Variant have shifted, MLPA has revised the schedule for the anticipated return of our Fall Concert Series. We are pushing back the kick-off date (originally scheduled for September 17th) and keeping our fingers crossed for October and November! Please save the event details below.

These family-friendly affairs will take place from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in Sunken Garden Park, located at 1000 E. Rock Springs Rd. NE. Let's celebrate cooler temperatures and welcome autumn with great eats, solid jams, and fun for al. There will be special activities and surprised for the kids, too! Many thanks to our sponsor, Sonny Jones of Dorsey Alston Realtors, for helping us bring back this Morningside favorite.

Virginia-Highland Summerfest Canceled

After a lot of careful consideration, we have decided to cancel this year's Summerfest. With the current spike in COVID-19 cases, we feel like the best decision for our community is to cancel. BUT...
We hope that you will plan to join us for our Friday night fundraiser, A Night Out for John Howell Park (Friday, Sept. 24). This will be a smaller, more limited, ticketed event that includes a food ticket for a BBQ dinner catered by D.B.A. Barbecue. We appreciate your continued support of Summerfest!

Peachtree Creek Greenway Tour

Please join us for a FREE guided tour of the beautiful Peachtree Creek Greenway. A knowledgeable tour guide will be available to answer questions and provide insight about the pathway and the Phase-2 expansion. These tours are offered specially for the neighboring communities to give you first-hand information on the Greenway's progresses toward the Atlanta Beltline.

Your guide will show you how the Greenway will:
  • Preserve greenspace
  • Promote a clean river system
  • Provide an alternative commuter pathway
  • Facilitate improved health outcomes
  • Enhance economic opportunities for our community
Bring the kids, the neighbors, and your questions to learn - first hand - about this special new jewel of a park right here in our neighborhood. Sign up today and we'll save you a spot! Meet at Peachtree Creek Greenway's North Druid Hills Trailhead at 2036 N. Druid Hills Rd. NE.
