Spring/Summer 2013

In January 2013 we were devastated by the news that the proposed HS2 High Speed Rail Link was looking at going straight through the middle of the stud. As the route stands it obliterates the farm, our home and all the land, you can hear our reaction on the Farming Today interview we did, which is linked on our Home Page.

We have together with other local people formed an action/information group called:

Gathering ourselves we have resolved to move as many ponies/horses on to new caring homes as we can. There are some lovely older ponies which due to the recession are now available either to owners with a bit of foresight who will be able to break them in, or, with the mares there are a few maidens who will make super foundation mares for new breeders or lovely additions to the bloodlines of established breeders.

Looking forward, although we have no foals due this year, as we wanted a year off, we have decided to put two or three mares in foal to Sirocco this year. Sirocco is the Matador replacement; he is potentially the best 148cm Stallion in Britain today. Homebred, he is a County winner and has National winning stock. Use him now, before we have move to goodness knows where!!

Thank you to all of you for your support via email, telephone and Facebook.
