Here's the line-up . . .
A friend told me recently that the Studio feels like a clubhouse for creative people - that's perfect! I hope you can join in on one of these upcoming diversely creative events. There's quite a variety.
April 27th and 28th: This weekend
is the much anticipated two-day workshop, Hildegard: Art and Soul Journey
. We have one more space if you'd like to come along with Michelle Belto
as our guide:
Thursday, May 2nd
: If you were one of the lucky ones to see the last Word of Mouth Poetry Event at the Studio, save the date for this one! Moderated by poet and essayist Roberto Pachecano
, this event explores the poetic roots of lyrics and music. Swapping songs will be Bryce Milligan
and Don Stephens
, long-time musicians and composers.
Saturday, May 4th: May the fourth be with you at Carousel Court! Drop by this benefit art celebration and help the Fisher House - it's a great way to support our Military families. Carousel Court is such a cool place - I love my studio neighbors! Lesta, Jan and Alison will be among the artisans showing gift suggestions for Mother's Day.
Sunday, May 5th: Sponsored by ABODE, Dr. Bill Kurtin and I will facilitate a workshop, Aromatherapy for Compassionate Care. This workshop is full, but contact the good people at ABODE Compassionate care for the Dying for the possibility of another session in June if you are interested in the topic.
Sunday, May 12th: Workshop at the Studio: Shards and Spirit Dolls: From 3-5 p.m., all materials provided, tuition is $55, limit eight participants.Email me for sign-up and details: firstname.lastname@example.org
But wait - there's more . . .
Sunday, May 19th: Sacred Ground at Cathedral House Gallery
I'll be joining a group of talented artists in the spiritually-grounded exhibit.
Sunday, June 2nd: Boston: The Beacon Hill Art Walk!
I'll be away from the Studio for a little while in late May and early June - I was accepted by the Beacon Hill Art Walk Committee to show my work in Boston. Wow! Blogging from Boston! What to show. . ? What to wear . . .??
Saturday, June 15: Guest Artist Workshop
Dr. Eileen Achorn, professor and jewelry designer, will lead a three-hour workshop from 11-2 at the Studio showing using shard faces as cabochons for seed bead adornments. Here is an example of her beautiful work. I'll have details about this great opportunity on the website soon, or just email me to sign up in advance. Limit eight.
Friday and Saturday, June 21st and 22nd: Internationally known sculptor, artist and designer Pablo Solomon will visit the Studio for a weekend Show and lecture. Last October I had the good fortune to meet artist/sculptor Pablo and his designer/creative director wife Beverly at an art opening at Marta Stafford’s gallery in Marble Falls. Pablo’s sculptures were captivating – very organic and fluid in stone and clay. We started talking and decided we needed to stay in touch. And we did! Please save these dates (6/21-22) to meet Pablo and see his beautifully diverse work.
Whew! That's it for now - it's a fun and exciting time! Hope to see you soon - as always, feel free to call me (210.860.9468) or email me with ideas and input for events at the Studio - it takes a whole darn village to make a Place of Creative Belonging!
