In London in the winter of 1968, legendary performer Judy Garland (Renée Zellweger) arrives to perform a series of sold-out concerts at the Talk of the Town. As she prepares for the show, she battles with management, charms musicians and reminisces with friends and adoring fans. She also embarks on a courtship with Mickey Deans (Finn Wittrock), her soon-to-be fifth husband.

Look who's in the spotlight
Volunteers are vital to the success of the Coronation Centre. We are truly blessed to have so many volunteers donate their time and, without a doubt, we would not be as successful or as busy as we are today. To this, we would like to start highlighting some of the many awesome volunteers we have on our team.
Thanksgiving is often seen as a time for family and gathering—well here at the Coronation Centre it is a time for the coronation Family to get together thanks to the amazing efforts of our volunteer team.
On the Friday of Thanksgiving, we held a Turkey Lunch at our café that could not have run smoother thanks to our amazing volunteers. It took more than 10 volunteers to pull together and serve over 80 turkey lunches (4 full birds got roasted for this!).  We had all of our tables full from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.—which included seating in the sunroom.
None of this would be possible without our amazing volunteers that day that included; Shirley Sanduleac,  Lois Finkbeiner, Irene Campbell,  LindaWedge-Garon, Judy Bernard, Carol Burke, Isabel Sexton, Alan Oliver, and Jim Andrew.
On Thursday we had Judy cooking and carving turkeys.  On Friday she was here at 7:00 a.m. starting the food preparations. From 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. not one volunteer took a break.  Each and every one of our volunteers were absolute champions.
The amount of time and effort that goes into making something like this work is astonishing. Thank you so much to everyone who made the day such a success.

SENIORS ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Seniors Advisory Committee established in February 2019 was appointed by Council and acts as a liaison to enrich and enhance the lives of seniors within Niagara Falls by identifying barriers, forming partnerships with the community and acting as a public forum for issues affecting seniors. The committee is still in its infancy but has made strides with the implementation of a Strategic Plan with clear goals and objectives. One of these goals is to solicit input from residents of Niagara Falls who are 60 years and older. To this, they have formed a short, 5 question survey.
The aim of the survey is to develop recommendations based on the top 3-5 critical issues that will have been identified by those who have completed the survey. Complete the survey and have a chance to win 2 free memberships to the Coronation Centre, plus 2 free lunches in our Cafe.

Ontario Government Logo
Ontario is committed to keeping seniors healthy but untreated oral care can lead to future chronic diseases and reduced quality of life.
That is why our government launched the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program, which will provide free routine dental care for eligible low-income seniors across the province.
Ontarians aged 65 and over with an income of $19,300 or less, or couples with a combined annual income of $32,300 or less, who do not have dental benefits, will qualify for the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program.
The new dental care program will be available through public health units, including some mobile dental clinics, as well as participating Community Health Centres and Aboriginal Health Access Centres.
A new user-friendly web portal to apply for the program is now open and can be accessed via ontario.ca/SeniorsDental. Seniors can also pick up an application form at their local public health unit. To find out more, please call:

The Shoebox Project for Women is a registered charity that collects and distributes gift-filled Shoeboxes to women impacted by homelessness in communities across Canada. For women who have been displaced from their homes and estranged from their families, special occasions can be particularly challenging. Often, women report feeling disconnected from society, invisible and alone. A Shoebox gift is a powerful reminder for a woman that she has not been forgotten and that she remains a valued and respected member of her community. For more info and how to fill a shoebox please visit shoeboxproject
On November 29th the centre received a donation of $500 from the Ontario Paper Thorold Foundation. Coronation member Suzie Bowles who attends the Tai Chi group is the treasurer of the Foundation. Suzie approached us and asked us if they could provide any funds to help towards programming. We, of course, said YES PLEASE. A huge thank you to the Ontario Paper Thorold Foundation. We will bring you an update when the funds have been spent. For more info about the foundation please visit: ontariopaperfoundation
