Understanding Bill 47- Making Ontario Open for Business Act
The Ontario Provincial Government recently passed Bill 47, Making Ontario Open for Business Act, 2018. Bill 47 will repeal sections of the previous government’s Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act (known as Bill 148) and came into effect on January 1, 2019. 

The seminar will focus on the recent changes to the Act as a result of the Making Ontario Open for Business Act, 2018 (Bill 47).

  • Freezing minimum wage
  • Hours of Work-Amending the “Three Hour Rule”
  • Leave of Absence
  • Public Holiday Pay
  • Equal Pay for Equal Work
The Bill 47 seminar is tailored to small businesses and employer groups but the information is also beneficial to you if you are an employee. The seminar will be presented by Geoff Becker, Regional Officer for the Ministry of Labour.
