Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee launches teen mental health projects thanks to Enbridge Gas Distribution
NIAGARA FALLS, ON - With the generous support of Enbridge Gas Distribution, the Niagara Falls Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee (MYAC) has launched a series of mental wellness projects for teens.
The student led projects bring customized activities to high school students across Niagara Falls. The projects feature study skills, self-care, contests, giveaways, visits with therapy dogs, exam survival kits, and more!
“The exam season can be extremely stressful for students, so we are very thankful to Enbridge Gas Distribution for giving us this opportunity to spearhead teen mental health activities that are truly student driven,” says Daniel Krowchuk, Co-chair of the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee. “The timing of this generous sponsorship is perfect!”
“We really want to play an active role in getting students to think about taking care of themselves during stressful times like exams,” says Chantelle Tran, Co-Chair of the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee. “Having the financial support from Enbridge has allowed us to develop a whole series of activities and events to reach as many teens as possible.”
“This is another example of our Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee having their finger on the pulse of exactly what students need in our community and taking action. We support them in their efforts to show fellow students that they are all in this together!” says Mayor Jim Diodati.
High school students can watch for project details at their schools. Everyone can follow along on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook using @nfmyac and #myacwellness.
