In Case of Inclement Weather
We are currently revising our protocol for inclement weather. Historically, we have canceled programs whenever school buses are not running.

On January 21st there was an Extreme Cold Warning which led to school buses being canceled. That said, the roads had been plowed and getting to the Coronation Centre was not too much of a risky task.

Moving forward, for any closures or cancellations please check our Facebook page:

You may also join our mailing list to be informed of any class cancellations. Please send an email to

Thank you.

Pat Essex poses for a photo
We are sad to announce that Pat Essex who has run our Coronation Clothing Closet, is retiring as her role of Closet Coordinator. Pat has worked tirelessly for the past seven years in the closet, arranging all the clothing, laundering, coming in on the weekends to sort through the donations just so that our Closet looked in tip top shape. Pat also helped run our Fashion Shows, which have been marvelous fundraisers for the Centre.

Thanks, Pat, from all of the staff, the volunteers who have worked for you, and the customers, for doing an absolutely outstanding job.

Logo: Community Volunteer Income Tax Program
Would you like to help members in your community with low or modest incomes file their tax returns for free, and receive government benefits to which they may be entitled?

What is the CVITP?
The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) is an unique initiative within the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), where individuals with modest incomes and a simple income tax situation can have their income tax prepared free of charge by volunteers in their community. They have been offering this service for 47 years.

The CVITP supports community organizations by offering training and free income tax software for volunteers.  The CRA also provides guidance and Efiling software to community organization coordinators as they deliver the program.

The Coronation Centre has agreed to host a clinic for the upcoming tax season. Is this something you may be interested in doing?

Stay tuned for more info coming soon.

Volunteers needed
Please consider volunteering with us.

We have shifts available once a week, once or month, or just occasionally. The Coronation Centre relies heavily on our volunteers to run our programs and to keep our clothing store and cafe open.

Applications are available at the office. Simply fill in your availability, i.e. day and time and we will match you up.

Thanks, folks.
