CRUISING ON THE Q
Every Tuesday evening from 6pm to 9pm (weather permitting) the beautiful Queen Street in Downtown Niagara Falls is closed to regular traffic and becomes a stage to show off some of the most beautiful and powerful cars in Niagara. 

This free event is open to the public and welcomes all car owners to show off their beauties.

NIAGARA FOLK ARTS FESTIVAL
Canada’s oldest continually-running Heritage Festival.
May 3-27, 2018
This festival is a beautiful blend of the cultures and people that make Canada a nation to be envied.

During the festival the multicultural community opens its doors and its hearts and welcomes you to experience the beauty and uniqueness of their cultures, traditions, art, music and food. There are dances, exhibitions, live entertainment and more.

Underground Railroad Experience
Date: Saturday May 19
Time: 10 am to 2 pm
Location: throughout the Niagara Region
Visit sites throughout the Niagara Region, with highlights including the gardens of the church Harriet Tubman helped to build and attend, where Josiah Henson, the character in Uncle Tom’s cabin first felt freedom, where the concept of the NAACP first came about (beginning of the civil rights movement) and much more! $50/person, ticket sales end May 12, 2018.

Join Sherman Zavitz, the City’s Official Historian, for a walk into the past as we explore the centre area of Niagara Falls. An interesting and informative tour lasting approximately 90 minutes and includes a peek into the heritage section of the Post factory.

All participants MUST be registered BEFORE event. Registration closes Friday, May 26 at 5pm. No registrations permitted day of event.

A great way to find out about local history, our wonderful Battle Ground Hotel Museum and have fun at the same time. This is part theatre, part living history, part escape room and a whole lot of fun.

The Victoria and Chippawa libraries are pleased to offer feature-length movies for everyone to enjoy.

Popular movies are shown on Tuesday evenings in the LaMarsh Room at the Victoria Avenue Library, and in the Meeting Room at the Chippawa Library on Wednesday evenings. Typically these are pre-DVD release movies, and we attempt to cover a wide range of titles in order to accommodate all of our borrowers' tastes.

Please note: Pre-release movie titles can be subject to change.

Screenings begin at 6:30 p.m. at Victoria on Tuesdays, and 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays at Chippawa.

No registration, it's absolutely FREE, bring your own popcorn and a comfy cushion if you like!

Mad Science comes to the Museum! Learn the hot and cold of science in this class on sublimation and the changing states of matter. Learn about dry ice and how it changes. Use it to create bubbling potions and foggy experiments! Each participant will receive a colour changing Kool Kup. Space is limited to 25 participants. Recommended age is 6-12.

Join Shine On Yoga for a FREE community yoga class. Relaxing hatha yoga class, geared toward reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep quality and maintaining or re-gaining your health. CALL FOR AWARDS / SUBMISSIONS/ AUDITIONS
LUNDY'S LANE UTILITY BOX ART CALL TO ARTISTS (EOI)
Niagara Falls Culture is seeking experienced and talented visual artists to create unique temporary artwork for reproduction on Utility Boxes in the City of Niagara Falls along Lundy’s Lane. This Expression of Interest (EOI) is open to professional artists that possess the knowledge, creative capacity to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. Four (4) artists will be shortlisted for the creation of designs and paid an honorarium of $500 each if they are shortlisted to provide final artwork. One (1) or two (2) artists will be chosen to create the final artwork(s) at the discretion of the adjudication panel. The final artwork from the awarded artist(s) must be composed of 5 separate sides (4 sides and a top) that will be placed in templates to be wrapped in vinyl around 11 different sized utility boxes. The artwork remains the property of the artist(s).

THEME 
The vision for the Lundy’s Lane Utility Box Art will be consistent with the following themes: Lundy’s Lane was the main thoroughfare and had a great heyday with its car and motel culture, shortlisted artists would be required to provide imagery pertaining to the nostalgic era of automobiles or motels that ruled the Lane.

NMC SCHOLARSHIPS 
The Niagara Men’s Chorus has proudly established scholarships for students graduating from Niagara area secondary schools in the name of Diane McQuade and Pamela Robbs. These scholarships will be awarded to the successful applicants who plan to study music or music education at an accredited post secondary institute.

Music Scholarship Awards - Value: $1000. (full amount to be determined annually, divided among recipients)

Criteria:
  • student accepted and enrolled in post secondary program in music or music education
  • student must be nominated by a school in Niagara Region
  • students will be rated on grades, music performance and leadership, community involvement and extra-curricular activities.
  • application must include a contact at the school
  • applicants must write letters on their own behalf

NIAGARA MEN'S CHORUS

The Niagara Men’s Chorus is always looking to recruit new members and guests are always welcome at our Monday evening rehearsals at Stamford Presbyterian Church, 3121 St. Paul Street, Niagara Falls.
NMC's New director starting our 2017-18 season is Victoria Rondinelli.
No formal auditions are necessary but evaluation of the part your voice falls in ie. Bass, Baritone, Second Tenor or First Tenor is required.
Rehearsals are always fun and interesting as we learn new music or polish older pieces for performance.  CONTACT

If you play drums, percussion, bass guitar, clarinet, flute, oboe, bassoon, saxophone, baritone, euphonium, tuba, french horn, trombone or trumpet!
The Niagara Falls Concert Band is a volunteer community band that performs a large repertoire of music from many different styles. We perform at civic events for the City of Niagara Falls as well as festivals, local are band shells and seniors homes.
We rehearse Monday Nights from 7:30-9:30pm.

ART SHOW & COMPETITION
The 3rd Annual Art Show & Competition was a great success with 60 artists creating work in all medium. From sculptures in wood , poly-cement, paper or clay to drawings and paintings made from nature, oil paint, acrylic and ballpoint pens, the artwork was beautifully showcased for the month of April in the Rosberg Gallery.
Congratulations to all who entered their work!
