May
Good Morning Coronation Members and Happy May! Let's just write off April shall we? Life has certainly become challenging for most of us as we are still being told to stay home, to stay safe and to crush the curve. I really hope you are all coping as best you can by keeping busy, active and more importantly healthy.

Physical distancing doesn't mean social distancing thanks to the cyber world that we live in today. Coronation has developed some virtual programs that I am hoping if you haven't already, that you will join us. We now have a toll free number you can call in for our programs, so please tell your Coronation friends who don't have access to a computer that they can join us for some chit chat and trivia, or our weekly music program. You can learn more about our programs in this enewsletter.

If there is any program that you think may work from a virtual standpoint, please let me know and I would be happy to oblige. In the meantime, look out for emails coming your way on a variety of topics.

Special Request from a Member of the Public
Re: Seeking help.... in need of about 200 (or more) buttons
sizes 3/4" or 7/8"...
Hello - I have been making a small crocheted item called a 'Mask Mate' or an 'Ear Saver'. This small crocheted strip has a button (3/4"or 7/8" diameter) on each end. The strip goes across the back of the head and allows face mask elastics to go onto the buttons instead of the backs of the ears. With the hours put in with the pandemic, nurses have let us know they have very sore ears.... It crossed my mind that we older women often have a 'button box' at home. I would love to have some kind of 'shout out' to all the members of the Coronation Centre in the hope that they may still have 'button boxes' (young people don't) and some buttons in the correct sizes...... and be willing to donate them for the front line workers at Niagara General Hospital.
If you can help please email Terry

Musical Moment: Listen to the TSO's Cellos perform
'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'

'The Musical Moment', produced by the TSO and the Star, features musicians recording themselves live at home, performing pieces no longer than three minutes. The new video will be posted each Thursday on their Facebook Page. Over the last couple of weeks, they decided they wanted to do something to thank doctors, nurses, health-care professionals and volunteers in Canada and around the world. It’s the musicians’ way of expressing gratitude to those who are working so hard to mitigate the COVID-19 crisis. They chose Harold Arlen’s famed “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” because it’s a song of hope, an optimistic look at a brighter future.Cellist Alastair Eng and his wife Ashley Vandiver, a TSO violist, created this beautiful new arrangement for the seven performers. Producer Ron Searles then edited and mixed the final product. Their ultimate aim is to bring joy to listeners and a smile to people’s faces.
