Earth Day & Beyond

Curbside Battery Collection: April 22 to 26

Don't toss your old batteries in with your regular recycling! Please place your batteries in a sealed, clear plastic bag beside your blue or grey bin on your regular collection day during Earth Week (April 22 to 26, 2019). Not all types of batteries can be accepted in the curbside collection, but they may be dropped off at your local household hazardous waste depot. For complete details, visit niagararegion.ca/waste.

Reminder to Homeowners & Landscapers

Underground irrigation systems and other landscaping features such as hedges, rocks and private curbs must not be installed within the City's right-of-way, including the boulevard and up to the property line. For details, visit niagarafalls.ca.

Great News for Grads!

The Niagara Region Chapter of the Drainage Superintendents Association of Ontario is offering a $600 bursary to local students pursuing post-secondary studies in environmental sciences or engineering. Details are posted on MYAC's scholarship page at niagarafalls.ca/myac.

And remember: your $1,000 Jim Mitchinson Scholarship application is due soon (April 30)!

Summer Company: Be Your Own Boss This Summer

The Summer Company program is open for applications through May 19! Administered by the Niagara Falls Small Business Enterprise Centre, this program provides successful applicants with valuable business training, mentorship, and funding up to $3,000 to operate their business over the course of the summer. Mental Health Awareness Week & BBQ
MYAC kicks off Mental Health Week with a free, community BBQ on Sunday, May 5 from 12 to 4 PM at the Niagara Falls History Museum. Live music, free yoga, meditation, children's activities and wellness booths will be open to everyone. Learn more at niagarafalls.ca/nfmyac.

Holiday Notice: Good Friday & Easter Monday
Our offices will be closed on Friday, April 19 and Monday, April 22 for the Easter holidays. Transit will run a holiday schedule on Good Friday and will follow a regular schedule on Easter Monday. Details at niagarafalls.ca/transit.

The next installment due date for the 2019 Interim Levy is April 30. Tax notices were mailed on February 7, 2019. For more information contact the Finance Department at 905-356-7521 extension 4309.
