This travelling exhibition focuses on the experiences of Canadian Women during the First and Second World Wars. Through five themes, World War Women shares personal stories of the women whose lives were transformed by the conflict.

March Break @ the Museum

Join Club Rex for a hands-on exploration of dinosaurs and everything prehistoric at the Museum this March Break! Come and learn all the latest news and the many new dinosaurs that have been discovered with a fun and educational approach to everyone’s favourite subject.  If you love dinosaurs, then we just became best friends!

Shows Daily from March 17-20, 2020 @ 11am & 1pm

Afterwards take a journey through the museum; make a craft and complete a scavenger hunt. On March 17-20, finish the day off with a family movie @ 3pm.
 

Sherman Zavitz Celebration 
March 4 @ 7pm

Join us to celebrate Sherman Zavitz and his 25 year career as the City Historian for Niagara Falls. March 4, 2020 at 7:00pm at the Niagara falls History Museum, 5810 Ferry Street, Niagara Falls, ON. Cash Bar. We will also present a selection of his writings that highlight the way he brought history to life.  

The Poppy Project

The Poppy Project is a collaborative community art project by the Niagara Falls History Museum in conjunction with Stick'N Needles Guild. The Museum needs your help to create a large scale installation of knit and crochet poppies to drape over the exterior of the Museum for Remembrance Day. The public is asked to create these poppies at home or at the Museum at regularly scheduled events throughout 2020.

Members of the Stick’N Needles Guild will be on hand to help participants with the poppy patterns. Coffee, tea and yarn will be provided at these events, but please bring your own needles or hook if you have them.

There is always something going on Thursday Nights

The Niagara Falls History Museum is open until 9:00 p.m. on Thursdays and provides free access to the galleries and a variety of programmes for all ages.  This month’s programmes include:


March 5
Community Yoga Series @ 7pm 
Yoga
Join Shine On Yoga for a FREE community yoga class. Relaxing hatha yoga class, geared toward reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep quality and maintaining or re-gaining your health. No yoga experience necessary.  Wear comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle and a yoga mat if you have one. Recommended for ages 16 and up.  20 Participants max, please come early to ensure a spot!


March 12
For Love of Country and Men: Woman at War - Winter Film Series @ 6:45

Also on Thursday nights, when you visit the Museum, you might run across one of our new crew of volunteers. These individuals have worked with us on coming up with a new perspective on looking at our history. There will be new people out each week, so make it a habit of stopping by.

Museum membership is inexpensive and an affordable way to find out about our community. Your membership gets you free admission to the Museum and current edition of our publication “Circa”, which is filled with great articles on local history. Past editions are also available for sale in our Gift Shop.

Educational Programs

The Museum has released the 2020 Educational Programmes  for teachers. There are a few new programs that fit the Ontario Curriculum as well as Museum and Battlefield tours.

We are also excited to be working with Niagara Falls Transit on offering free bus transportation to elementary school children.
