CAll to Artists. City of Niagara Falls Christmas Card Cover-Art commission. applications due before Monday March 7 2021.
The City of Niagara Falls invites Niagara Falls artists to submit an application for the development and execution of a traditional style illustrated or painted landscape of City Hall to be featured on Mayor Jim Diodati's City of Niagara Falls official 2021 Holiday/ Christmas Card. The selected artist will receive $1000 as a commission to complete the artwork. Completed designs/artwork are NOT required at this time. INFO
GAME OF SCHROOMS
Game of Shrooms is a once a year world-wide art N seek event created by Attaboy. Last year, thousands of artists and art hunts made and searched for art in towns and cities across the world, from Hong Kong to France, to Arkansas. The next one happens on June 12th, 2021. On that day artists from all over the world hide their original mushroom-themed works in public places then they give hints on social media, for others to find AND KEEP! INFO

NIAGARA FALLS POETRY PROJECT SUBMISSIONS

Dedicated to the poetry of Niagara Falls – the waterfalls, river, city, people, and history. A section of the site is also being developed to showcase Niagara poets. The very first poem that contains a reference to Niagara Falls is by Le Sievr de la Franchise, published in 1604.

CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 
Virtual Event March 6, 2021

Vision 20/20 Women’s Work Niagara is a virtual art exhibition that will hold a closing event on March 6th 2021 to celebrate International Women’s Day. Keynote speakers, Regional Councillor Barbara Butters and community activist Angela Peebles will talk about women’s role in affecting change.

In case you missed it - check out the artwork of 21 women of Niagara Falls spanning four generations, Shelley Glica’s (Porchfest) talk about building community through the arts, and the video shorts series,  “Speaking of women’s work . . .”
