Educational Speakers Series
Toronto Public Library (TPL) is the busiest urban public library in the world and a leader in delivering innovative services to its customers of all ages and backgrounds. In October 2020, TPL and CanAge partnered to strengthen each organization’s ability to support and better serve seniors. The goal is to develop more opportunities for seniors to learn, contribute to their communities and build an age-inclusive city.

The first stage of this partnership is the launch of Aging your Way: Creating an Age-Inclusive Canada, Together. TPL's robust seniors’ programming and CanAge’s vast expertise in issues affecting older people are a perfect pairing to help you and your loved ones age on your own terms.

This engaging learning series, delivered virtually by TPL, strives to educate and empower older adults and their caregivers on a broad range of critical issues affecting their lives. The series will cover a variety of topics related to aging your way. Hear from experts in health care, assistive technology and other fields related to aging.

Whether you’re an older person, a caregiver or just someone who wants to better support someone in your life, this talk series has something to change your perspective on the process of aging. Series will commence on March 15, 2021. Reserve your space today.

Safe Driving During a Pandemic
Lisa Thompson from the Ministry of Transportation gave an excellent presentation on February 25 on Safe Winter Driving. We learnt a lot of information which was extremely useful. She will be returning in March for another presentation on 'Safe Senior Driving During a Pandemic'.

Topics will include:
-Trends & statistics for older drivers
-Service Ontario and drive test services
-Driving tips for older drivers
-Vehicle tips for time of disuse

I have already received interesting questions for Lisa to answer such as:

"Help - I turned 80 in May 2020. Due to Covid-19 my Over 80 examination was postponed. The Ministry sent me a temporary licence which expired on June 30 2020. What should I do?"

Get answers to questions such as this at our presentation on Monday, March 15 at 1:30pm.

If you have any questions for Lisa please email them to Hanya
