Lessons Learned from the LA Model: How Unlikely Allies Found a Solution to the Violence Epidemic
Have you ever wondered how LA is fixing its gang violence epidemic? How community safety has changed in the last few years? How LA's approach to these issues is different from others?
Our newest report - A Call to Action: Los Angeles' Quest to Achieve Community Safety
- looks back at five years of an extraordinary experiment to find out what it takes to keep kids safe in the worst gang violence hot zones. We have highlighted LA's progress towards greater community safety, and provide recommendations to build on those successes in order to achieve comprehensive community safety.
Advancement Project invites you to attend a live webinar, as we take a deeper look into A Call to Action report:

Nuts & Bolts of CEQA Workshop
The Los Cerritos Wetlands Land Trust , in partnership with other environmental organizations, is hosting a workshop on The Nuts and Bolts of CEQA
(The California Environmental Quality Act) and how to use it as a citizens tool to hold special interests accountable. The Planning and Conservation League will be running the workshop!
As you well know, CEQA is one of the most effective tools a citizen's group has to get information about development projects proposed for near them out in the open.
We are so fortunate that the Planning and Conservation League (http://www.pclfoundation.org
) has agreed to do a CEQA workshop (perhaps their only one in Southern California!)
