Recalling that March 2003 was when the United States launched its attack on Iraq based on false claims about weapons of mass destruction, seven citizens groups in Wisconsin have planned "No War on Iran" vigils for the last week of March. The vigils range from Superior to Racine, and from LaCrosse to Wauwatosa.

"We'll do our best to counter an organized campaign of fear and misinformation that is pushing us towards a war with Iran," said Steve Burns, Program Director of Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice, a coalition of more than 160 organizations across Wisconsin that has developed a "Get the facts" flyer that many of the vigil participants will be using. "Even the Israeli government is now admitting that there is no evidence that Iran is trying to develop a nuclear bomb, but you wouldn't know that from the media coverage we're seeing," Burns said.
