Update on the Coronavirus and Potential Impact on Programs

The Orange County Council which includes the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center and the Newport Sea Base, has received calls from individuals asking how the Coronavirus or COVID-19, might impact our programs. We are monitoring the situation closely and are prepared to act quickly should the situation warrant action.

While officials say the health risk to the general public in California from Novel Coronavirus remains low, the Orange County Health Care Agency acknowledges the situation is evolving, and our Council is closely monitoring developments. We are also working with the Orange County Department of Education and other agencies to stay alert to changes. Above all, we are committed to protecting youth, volunteers and staff in environments that are safe.

The quintet of cousins completed their final projects and earned the coveted ranking together in a court of honor. The boys were all members of Boy Scout troops at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Newport Beach.

Scout-O-Rama | Saturday, May 9th
Scout Units from across Orange County will help bring the Scout Handbook to life with activities, games, and demonstrations. It's the one time of year that the entire family of Scouting comes together to celebrate and showcase scouting to all of Orange County. This year will be especially exciting as we celebrate 100 years of Scouting in Orange County with special displays, presentations, and activities like a Pinewood Derby. The Adventure Card is your family’s ticket into Scout-O-Rama! Scouts will be selling Adventure Cards for $10 throughout Orange County.
Every Pack, Troop, Crew, and Post in the Council is encouraged to join in the centennial celebration by setting up a hands-on display or activity booth (at no cost for the Scout Unit). Complete the Unit Booth Application.
