Congratulations Hotel Trundle!

Hotel Trundle has placed among the best historic hotels in the country, according to a readers poll from USA Today. The hotel, located in the heart of the Main Street District in downtown Columbia, placed fifth among 20 contenders vying for USA Today’s “best 10” national competition.

In 2019, Hotel Trundle was also selected to join the Southern Living Hotel Collection, a group of 24 hotels and inns picked by Southern Living editors that “embody the essence of exceptional Southern hospitality,” the magazine said.

Save the date for Saturday, September 11, at 8:00 am as we and the 9/11 Remembrance Foundation of South Carolina honor our hometown heroes for the Annual 9/11 Morning of Remembrance Ceremony Program. The ceremony will take place at the Columbia Metro Convention Center.

Columbia’s Greek Festival to Take Place as Drive-through Event

Thursday, September 16 – Sunday, September 19
Unfortunately, due to rapidly increasing issues with the Delta Covid surge, the 2021 Columbia's Greek Festival has been changed to a drive-through event.
The great Greek dinners, salads, gyros, souvlaki, pastries, and frozen casseroles will still be available on September 16-19 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral parking lot located in the 1900 block of Sumter Street.  The hours Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are 11am to 8pm and Sunday 12 noon to 6pm.  More details to follow, so stay tuned!

Who is City Center Partnership and the BID?
In 2001, City Center Partnership was formed to manage the downtown Business Improvement District in the 36-block area bounded by Gervais, Elmwood, Assembly and Marion streets in Columbia, SC. The organization provides public space management, economic development, place management, marketing services, and public advocacy for the Main Street District.
The Board of Directors oversee the organization’s mission — to focus on filling vacancies in commercial properties, retaining existing downtown businesses and recruiting new ones, expanding the downtown residential base, and creating a safe, clean, and friendly downtown environment.
