CO.STARTERS Grads
On the Move!

Ghost Train Brewing Co. Tasting Room Opens Soon.
Another awesome brewery will be available to you by the end of Summer 2016, and it’s by none other than 2016 BIG PITCH finalist and CO.STARTERS alum Taylor DeBoer of Ghost Train Brewing Co.!
The Ghost Train Tasting Room will be located in Lakeview at 2616 3rd Avenue South (former space of Cahaba Brewing Co.). Construction is ongoing with renovations including a 25-foot bar, 10-barrel brewing system and more.
Ghost Train is currently produced in Mississippi under a contract brewing arrangement, but thanks to a distribution deal with Birmingham Budweiser, his beer has been available throughout the Magic City since August 2015.
We can’t say enough about how THRILLED we are to see Ghost Train Brewing Co. opening here in our city. So many CO.STARTERS grads are making major moves, and Taylor is no exception!

SmallBox Company LLC Posts Up in Railroad Park...
CO.STARTERS alum Eric Tasker recognized a demand in Birmingham’s startup community. He found entrepreneurs struggled with securing retail space because available options were often too large, too expensive and required long-term leases. Tasker thought of a way to fill this gap - he transformed a 20 x 8.5 foot shipping container into a moveable retail storefront, and SmallBox Company LLC was born.
“SmallBox allows startups and entrepreneurs looking for retail space in the City with a way to test the market. We provide small spaces on short-term leases at locations with high foot traffic.” Tasker said.
SmallBox Co. recently received the green light from the City’s Design Review Committee and the Railroad Park Board of Directors to locate a Box in Railroad Park for nine months. As the company grows, multiple Boxes will be available across the city, so retail tenants can test different locations for viability. The first container (pictured above) is almost complete. The finished product will be painted, enclosed, supplied with electricity, and include signage.
Filling spaces and growing sustainable businesses is right in line with our mission. A round of applause goes to SmallBox Co. for finding an innovative means to do both! Follow @smallboxco on Instagram or contact eric.tasker@bellsouth.net for more information.
