It's a Takeover!
A "Restaurant Takeover," that is...
We’re constantly working to help Birmingham startups make the transition from concept to CREATION as easy as possible. And pop-up showcases are a cool way to introduce starters to the community, build their audiences and position them for sustainable success. It’s also a chance for you to see, touch, and – in this case – TASTE what sought-after goods and creations are on the Magic City horizon.
That’s why you should check out Restaurant Takeover next Tuesday, June 23rd from 5PM-8PM!
CO.STARTERS grads Zebbie Carney and Theresa Rumore will be showcasing their delicious fare at a takeover of Tracy’s Restaurant, located at 75 Church Street in Crestline.
Have a taste of the Tennessee-inspired, up-and-coming, Birmingham original– Eugene’s Hot Chicken. Then cool the burn with locally-sourced, handcrafted flavors of delicious artisan ice cream by Pixie Ice Cream Company.
Jump here for a behind the scenes look at why owners started Eugene’s Hot Chicken and Pixie Ice Cream Co.
And if you have a business idea that you’re ready to get off the ground, we're taking applications for our next round of CO.STARTERS now!

"Say Cheeeese"
Congrats to Avondale's newest photography studio!
On June 6th, owners Amy Pate and Lindsey Culver celebrated their business relocation to 130 41st St. South with "A Taste of Avondale," a showcase of Avondale’s favorite restaurants and bars including Melt, Post Office Pies, Saw’s Soul Kitchen, The Abbey, Avondale Brewery, The Original Green Acres Cafe and Have A Bite Catering (DELISH!).
The official grand opening celebration for Amy P Photography and Lindsey Culver Photography was hosted in their new 41st Street studio - a storefront space with both a neighborhood and city feel. The event encouraged attendees to experience the Avondale food scene by featuring samples from the awesome restaurants and bars mentioned above.
In 2010, Amy Pate opened Catchlight Studios on Morris Avenue as a fully-equipped space for up-and-coming photographers to work. As word spread, Amy’s business expanded and Amy and Lindsey joined forces to open their own private studio.
Both specialize in maternity, newborn, kids and family photos. Be sure to drop by, experience their new location and enjoy the delicious dining that Avondale has to offer.
And get ready to strike a pose, of course!
