Into the Home Straight
With only a week left until the show, it's probably not the best time to call your local frame builder to ask if he can repair the cracked top tube in your frame, at least not if he is a small operation and listed as a Shimano NAHBS exhibitor. But it's a great time to go through the news section of our website and remind yourself of some of the interesting things you can expect to find at the show. If you're looking for a floor plan detailing where you can find your favorite exhibitors, you can download a PDF version of this from the Attendee Information
section of the website. Most other information you will need is also under the 2010 Info heading on the site. We're hearing buzz about the show from all over the country, and are just as excited about it as you are!
Free Beer Courtesy Blue Moon Brewing Company.
Beer at NAHBS is on the Blue Moon Brewing Company this year. Every day, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 3-5 p.m., join exhibitors and other attendees in the show hall for the Blue Moon Happy Hour, which will bring each day of the show to a glowing end. Don't be late, though, because supplies are limited! Needless to say, this is strictly for those aged 21 and over. www.bluemoonbrewingcompany.com
Tubeless Tech From Shimano
What do handbuilt and Shimano have in common? Certainly many high quality handbuilt frames are equipped with Shimano components, but a lesser
known fact is that all Shimano wheels are hand built. Each wheel is assembled by hand, 100% quality checked and then serialized for 100% quality accountability. With nearly 20 different models of wheels to choose from, the most recent and exciting technology is Shimano’s very own Road Tubeless Technology.
With Road Tubeless you can run lower tire pressures with the same rolling resistance of a higher pressure tube and tire system resulting in a more comfortable and controllable ride. At the Shimano booth you’ll be able to see the Dura-Ace C24 tubeless carbon wrapped wheel featuring a proprietary 1.5mm aluminum rim extrusion with a carbon fiber wrap and aluminum braking surface.
The Ultegra 6700 wheel is the most affordable road tubeless wheel, tipping the scales at only 1650 grams and a retail of $650 most notably, the wheel features much of the same technology that is found in the Dura-Ace wheel. Be sure to stop by the Shimano booth to learn more about the many Shimano wheels models for road, mountain, and utility bikes as well as Shimano’s Road Tubeless Technology. bike.shimano.com
Richard Sachs Ready for Another NAHBS
NAHBS Original Six member, Richard Sachs, has lined up an arsenal of interesting artifacts as well as the usual line of impeccable bikes to provide show
visitors with a feast of the very best the industry has to offer.
Two collectible posters are included among the offerings in his booth, one of which features the first-time use of new stencil from House Industries
from their forthcoming Eames Century Modern collection set to debut in March.
The other is a simple reminder of what we all are apt to forget when looking at all the fabulous detail on display in the show hall. Oh, and when you drop by his booth, be sure to ask about the forthcoming show at MAD in New York... www.richardsachs.com
