|Dear friends of the Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions,
CPWR, in conjunction with the Universal Forum of Cultures Monterrey 2007 - International Interreligious Encounter, is compiling a
Report on the State of the Interreligious Movement
Our goal is to provide an introduction to the growing movement of diverse religious communities working together in pursuit of positive ends; the report will also be an invaluable guide for those who would like to increase their participation in interreligious endeavors. HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP:
***** LET US KNOW WHAT YOU’RE UP TO*****
Send us 500-1000 words describing how you and your religious community reach out to and work with other religious communities. Please be as specific as possible; your description should include these elements:
1. Describe the work you're doing (for example, hosting an interreligious dialogue event, joining other religious communities to advocate on behalf of social justice, working with other local religious communities in response to local concerns, etc.)
2. Describe your religious motivation (we want to know what in your tradition compels you to work with and reach out to other religious communities in this way)
3. Get personal (wherever possible we want a first-person account that captures your experience, what you learned, what surprised you, what provoked new thought or reflection, etc.)
4. Contact information (make sure to identify your religious tradition, and to include your address, email, and phone number so we can follow-up if we choose to feature your work)
We can’t feature everyone; and, obviously, we can’t be truly comprehensive. But with your help we can provide a snapshot of each religious tradition as it relates to the interreligious movement. (ALL organizations, events, and initiatives with complete contact information will be included in a larger index appended to the report).
Please send me your information by June 4, 2007.
