Franciscans In Action

Hard work. Conversion. Prayer. Fun. These are words that the young women who volunteered for Franciscans in Action in Martin, Kentucky used to describe their recent experience. Sisters Donna McGartland, Cheryl Wint, Laura Hackenberg and Nicolette Vennaro led the group in building a 28-foot wheel chair ramp for Ruby and David. This week-long service program is not all about building ramps. It is also about building a strong team, growing in faith, and sharing in a sense of accomplishment.

To everything there is a season

By Sister Catherine Noecker

Thank you, God, for summer sunshine and rain; thank you for all those willing to work out in the fields to do the many tasks involved in getting food items to market, especially those who travel distances to reap our harvests. For clerks who work in stores and roadside stands, thank you, Jesus, one more time!
Many of our sisters volunteer their time to serve those most in need. Your gift supports a sister in her ministry with the poor and vulnerable.
