New Stars born at the Lake of Stars

With a double win for best choir and best director, the Chicaia Village Choir was the undisputed star of the 5th Annual Manda Wilderness Choir Festival, sponsored by The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation, Nkwichi Lodge and Community Trust.
Competition between the villages of the Manda Wilderness Area was fierce, with 13 choirs singing well into the night. The winning choir mesmerized the audience with their harmonic performance, completed with a clever choreography on the steps of the church.
Adding to the success was the performance of Malawi’s gospel sensation, Martha Mituka and the Adoration Band. It proved the perfect way to end the the night with moonlit entertainment.
Nkwichi Summer Academy

On a recent Thursday morning, Nkwichi played host to a very special ceremony. As many as four staff members received certificates testifying the level of their English language skills, and an additional 31 received certificates to honour their improvements over the course of the lessons.

Under the strict supervision of an experienced English teacher, Nkwichi’s staff invested many hours and lots of hard work in furthering their English language skills this summer. And the results were there to show: many happy smiles and a thunderous applause for all during the ceremony.

We’d like to say it once again; well done and congratulations!
