Entrepreneurial DNA - Do you have it?

What does it mean to be an entrepreneur? Starting a business, buying a business, starting a new process within your organization, or perhaps creating something new in your community?

Is this a title reserved for a select few? Are some people born with the entrepreneurial DNA, or can it be developed? Can the entrepreneurial spirit be injected into our environment and become viral?

For the July Salon, TEDxABQ, the nonprofit organization that has brought together New Mexico’s most inspiring and fascinating people to share big ideas, is inviting residents to share their ideas and visions on what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. This salon brings together New Mexicans who are putting the entrepreneurial spirit to work for themselves or from within their organizations, to benefit our community. Join us as they share their insight and experience on influential elements in their work that have shaped their entrepreneurial journeys.

Successful entrepreneurs look like they walk on water . . .
they just know where the rocks are.

TEDxABQ Salon | The Entrepreneur will feature speakers representing Albuquerque’s most successful entrepreneurs – from small business owners to social media gurus to executives. Through this salon we seek to investigate how entrepreneurs develop, succeed, and inspire others. The program will include key resources, and feature organizers, experts, and contacts from Albuquerque’s entrepreneurial community. Come listen, learn and interact.

Bike in to Old Town Farm: TEDTalk Viewing event

What a great time we had at the Old Town Farm. It was awesome to see everyone biking in. Good picnic time, Street Food Institute and Bike In Coffee food trucks, music by Lost Mesa Swamp Kings and  . . .  TEDTalks!

One of the talks we watched was from TEDxMileHigh - Breathless. [watch video]  Don challenged us to stop thinking about where we live in the negative and start celebrating the wonderful things about our home.

It's your turn. Let's continue the discussion.

- What makes you proud of Albuquerque/New Mexico?
- What would you like to see more of in our city/state?
Share your answers on our facebook page.
