International Flower Essence Repertoire
Changes at IFER

Our intention in 2013 is to sell Achamore House, and build new environmentally-friendly premises at the north end of Gigha, near my wife's dairy farm, on a plot that looks out to the sea and sunsets over Islay and Jura. At present we are looking to have the hot water and the entire premises heated with just solar thermal energy. This includes the new, slightly larger greenhouse, which will have a roof and one wall of multiple layers of high-quality polycarbonate, which will have a very good (low) U value. The plans are at an advanced stage, almost ready to send to the Planning Office. I'm excited about the project, though it all does depend on selling Achamore House before anything is able to begin.

But one thing is clear, and that is that the new business premises will be smaller than I had initially envisioned, and as a consequence I have had to focus on our priorities here at IFER. For 16 years we have carried about 12 to 15 ranges of the best flower essence lines we have been able to find around the world. And it has been an honour and an education to carry them over these years. But in the past 5 or 6 years the LTOE have taken on a greater and greater role, and we are now going to stop carrying most of the other ranges we have carried.

We will still carry the Petite Fleur Essences made by Dr. Judy Griffin in Texas, and we will continue to carry the Platbos Forest Essences from South Africa; and also we will continue to carry at least Terra Extra from the Bloesem Remedies in Holland. But most of the rest will have to go, as we simply will not have the space to accommodate them. These days there are of course a number of other companies in the UK offering most of the rest of these ranges, and I know they will be in good hands.

So in the months ahead, you will find that we will have dwindling stocks of FES, Bush, Wild Earth Animal Essences, Indigo, Bailey, Findhorn, Living Essences of Australia, and Star Essences. We absolutely wish these wonderful essences and their makers well in the years ahead, and I thank them for the education they have provided me over the years regarding all things to do with essences and essence-making. A number of the essence makers are dear and good friends, and we will be of course staying in touch. But I need to ensure that I turn my full focus on the Living Tree Orchid Essences and their needs.

LTOE Seminars 2013

Readers of this newsletter will be aware that IFER is planning to relocate in 2013 to new premises 3 miles north of our present base, still here on the beautiful Isle of Gigha. The schedule of this move is dependent of course on the sale of Achamore House, but we hope to be in our new premises in the autumn, if all goes well. But if all goes according to plan (ha ha!) then this Spring will be the last opportunity we will have to host seminars here in the grandeur of Achamore House. We therefore have one scheduled for April, and another for May.

TEK Kinesiology Seminar

April 18th - 25th 2013

Throughout the past 14 years of the development of the Living Tree Orchid Essences, one of our professional customers became so involved with using the LTOE that in time he became a colleague, and a highly valued one at that. Dr. Adrian Brito-Babapulle has extensive training in various medical and complimentary fields, and over the past decade has developed a clear, precise and powerful kinesiological approach for determining which of the Living Tree Orchid Essences will best suit a person's needs, at multiple levels of the body and soul. He calls this approach "Therapeutic Energy Kinesiolgy" or TEK for short.

Adrian will be teaching his 7 day course here in Achamore House in April, with people to arrive on Thursday the 18th, and departing on Friday morning the 26th. The course will include slightly more than 7 days instruction, as it will begin the evening of the 18th. This is a wonderful introduction to the TEK protocol, but with enough hands-on practical work so as to get a beginner to the point of being able to start working with this approach when the week is complete. The training is also fully suited to kinesiologists and other medical professionals, as well as anyone who has previously attended one of Adrian's courses. Please understand: this is a course primarily for professional therapists, and is demanding of one's time. But the rewards are tremendous, in that it will enable you to work with the LTOE with proficiency and accuracy to a degree that is astonishing. I know of no other approach that brings such powerful results so quickly and precisely. Adrian's work has helped us to realize the fuller potential of the orchids in healing both body and soul.

The TEK Seminar will cost £750 including shared twin-room accommodation at Achamore House if booked after March 15th; the early-bird booking fee is £695. Single rooms are available for £20 per night extra. Other accommodation is of course available on Gigha. If you stay elsewhere then the course fee is £630 after March 15th, and £580 before then. Seminar bookings should be made via IFER (tel. 01 583 505 385 or from abroad +44 1583 505 385).

LTOE Introductory Seminar

May 8th - 16th 2013

My own seminar is an in-depth introduction to the entire range of the 114 LTOE, with my sharing photos and timelapse videos of the orchids, as well as some of the information we have acquired over the years with regards to the use of each. We indulge in celebrating the orchids throughout the 8 days. The core of the seminar is 'meeting' the orchid essences directly, by means of brief meditations upon taking the drops. The size of this seminar is kept to 10 people or less, so as to enable a high quality of sharing after the meditations. A side-effect of this approach is that the course is itself a wonderful healing journey.

Halfway through we will take a few hours out to see the beauty of Gigha.

The arrival date for the seminar is Wednesday the 8th of May, and the departure is Friday May 17th. The seminar fee is £525 if booked before April, and £595 if booked from April onwards. The fee includes shared B&B accommodation in Achamore House. A single room without ensuite can be requested, but costs £20 per night extra. (Most of our bedrooms are twin rooms with 2 double-size beds, and bathroom right near by. We also have 3 grand rooms with ensuite bathrooms. These cost £30 extra per night.)

Most people attending seminars on Gigha ask us to collect them from Glasgow, either the airport or the train station. We charge £30 for this each way. Let us know when booking if you will want this service.

Early May should also be the peak of the rhododendrons in bloom in Achamore Gardens, so the splendour of the gardens will be just outside the door of the house if you choose to attend.

Either seminar will be rewarding and enriching, and I hope some of our readers will decide to come along!
