Introduction to Superadobe


In this 2.5 hour class you will learn how to build a garden bed and landscape walls and benches using Superadobe.

This class includes the full curriculum taught in our Weekend Workshop program at Cal-Earth.

The Online Class is $75 and includes unlimited access to a downloadable film, password for streaming on Vimeo, and a PDF Handbook. 

The class covers the following topics 
in-depth through step-by-step demonstration:

Tools & Materials
Mixing the Soil
Prepping the Site
Design Layouts
Compass Set-Up and Footprint

Managing Moisture
Starting/Laying/Finishing the Bag
Tamping/Compaction Strategies
Laying Barbed Wire

Watch the Preview of the Online Class on Vimeo--The class is 142 minutes and is a step-by-step instructional video on how to build with Superadobe. 

The online class also includes a downloadable handbook with step-by-step instructions as well as a password to stream the class online from your mobile device.

You can also add on a 50 yard roll of superadobe sandbag for an additional $75 (includes shipping) if you wish to practice building alongside the class. This small roll is perfect for beginners.

We hope to have the next class (building a full dome) available in the next 6 months, followed by a class on earthen plasters. Our goal is to ultimately have all our lessons online so anyone can learn to build wherever they are. 

As a reminder, Cal-Earth is a nonprofit organization. All proceeds from this go towards the continuation of our work, including ongoing research efforts and the development additional online classes.
