Some exciting changes for our family in 2016!
Dear Friends,
As 2016 begins and we consider the newness of the year ahead, we are excited to announce a big step for our family. As our term of service with LCMS International draws to a close, we want share with you that beginning March 1, 2016 we will commence work as missionaries with Lutheran Bible Translators (LBT)! If you haven't heard of them before, they began in 1964 and are a Recognized Service Organization of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. We have been so blessed serving with LCMS International since 2010 in various fields and many different ways, but we believe this move is what God is laying on our hearts. We are passionate about providing God's Word in the heart language of all people, and there is a lot of work to be done! We know you probably have many questions, and though we don't have all the answers yet we have provided some insight to what we do know below. Please don't hesitate to e-mail us with any questions that you might have!

In Christ,

Who? Learn more about LBT here:
What? Bible translation! Did you know there are 2,000 languages in the world that don't have a Bible? Here are some interesting facts about Bible translation:
When? Over the coming months, we will begin studies at the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics (GIAL) in Dallas, Texas earning a Certificate of Applied Linguistics program at GIAL. This twenty week program includes classes on anthropology, linguistics, language and culture acquisition, and relational skill. After GIAL we will be visiting all of you and sharing about our work. We will leave for the field when we are 100% funded for our first term.
Where? LBT serves on five continents with over 50 different language groups. They have work in Asia Area, Australia, Botswana, Cameroon, Canada, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Liberia, Mexico, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South America, Togo, Zambia, and the United States. We will know more about a specific country once we complete our studies at GIAL.
Why?  Working as ESL teachers since 2010 years has taught us the importance of language, especially the heart language of the people you want to reach.
How? With your help! LBT can begin receiving funds in our name beginning March 1st. We will send out more information on how to do that soon. Any remaining funds left in our LCMS International account will be given to other missionaries in need and/or projects in the region.
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
Romans 10:14-15
